Grand Masters

Albert Pike Lodge No. 303

Within our lodge, nestled in Wichita, Kansas, the Albert Pike Masonic Lodge proudly stands as a symbol of tradition and excellence, affiliated with the esteemed Grand Lodge of Kansas. Unlike those serving as Master of our local lodges, who hold the title of Worshipful Master, individuals serving in the office of Grand Master over the jurisdiction are known by the esteemed title of Most Worshipful, signifying their esteemed position within Freemasonry.

Here, the convergence of Grand Masters creates a legacy of profound significance. Several revered individuals among us have attained the esteemed office of Grand Master, the highest honor within Kansas Freemasonry.

Their names etched in our lodge’s history embody unparalleled dedication, wisdom, and service to the Masonic fraternity. Their leadership has guided our institution and the broader Masonic community towards greater enlightenment, unity, and benevolence.

Having not just one but several members ascend to the esteemed position of Grand Master within the Grand Lodge of Kansas is a rare distinction. Their guidance continues to light the way for future Freemasons within Albert Pike Lodge and beyond.

Join us in celebrating the profound legacy of these remarkable individuals. Explore their contributions, leadership, and enduring spirit, shaping our lodge’s narrative and inspiring the ongoing Masonic journey.

Robert C. Talbott

Past Grand Master, Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Kansas A.F.&A.M.

Bob was born in Dodge City, Kansas, but raised along the eastern seaboard, where his father worked quality control in the nuclear energy construction industry. After graduating High School in Newberry, SC, a minor diversion working in the Kansas oilfield and completing his electronics degree in St. Augustine, Fl, he returned to the Wichita, Kansas area in 1989, where he has lived ever since.

Bob is a 26-year, perpetual life member of Albert Pike Lodge No. 303 (Wichita), where he presided as its 105 th Master in 1999. He is a plural member of Hope Lodge No. 155 (Howard), a dual member of Amity Lodge No. 87 in Newberry, SC, and a member of the Kansas Lodge of Research. He was commissioned a Grand Lecturer in 2001 and has served as a Grand Lecturer since that time. He has served on the Committee on Ritualistic Work, served as Grand Orator in 2002 (with M∴W∴ Glen Kohr), Grand Marshal in 2011 (with M∴W∴ Tracy Bloom) and Grand Junior Deacon in 2013 (with M∴W∴ Rick Reichert). He was appointed Grand Senior Deacon by M∴W∴ Michael Halleran in 2014 and successively elected to the office of Grand Master in 2017, to serve for the 2018-2019 year.

Bob is a Senior DeMolay from Newberry, SC chapter, an endowed member of the Scottish Rite, SJ – Wichita Valley and Noble of Midian Shrine Center since 1999. He is in the process of completing his York Rite degrees.

Bob has three brothers and two sisters and enjoys the extended and blended family, who are very close-knit. His only daughter, Shelbi, and Grandson Luca (3 yrs) are his life focal point and he is blessed to have them live in the Wichita metro area. Among the many joys in his Masonic experiences are attending the raising of his brother (Jeff Goertzen) and cousin (Tony Talbott), as well as taking the degrees, being Raised and learning “the work” alongside his older brother (Merle Talbott) and the many years of serving in the officer line at Albert Pike No. 303 with him. Having had the privilege of his Dad, Charles A. Talbott, planting the Masonic seed so many years ago, Raising him to the sublime degree of a Master Mason and sitting in Lodge with him cannot be adequately described. These events, and the more than 26 years serving with and for the Kansas Craft, have laid up a treasure trove of memories that will allow for happy reflections for the remainder of his life.

Bob is a Portfolio – Delivery Manager for the PepsiCo companies, where he has delivered domestic and international Information Technology projects to support the business, for 26 years.
